How to Play Casino Stud Poker (Play’n GO)
Casino Stud Poker requires a classic 52-card deck without jokers. The virtual dealer shuffles cards before each hand.
The goal of the player is to get payouts. It is necessary to beat the dealer by collecting the higher hand than him. You can also win if the dealer does not have the minimum combination. It is possible to become the owner of the progressive jackpot in full or in part. Read more about all opportunities below.
Gamblers can play Casino Stud Poker only on one box. The basic bet (ante) can be from one to one hundred euros (Unibet can serve as an example). Also the additional bet for the progressive jackpot can be made. Its size is fixed and comprises one euro.
During the game, the user, who makes the ante, receives five cards. The croupier deals five cards to himself, facing up only one of them. The client estimates the rank of his hand and decides what to do. Only two options are available:
The first option is to fold, i.e. to refuse continuing the game. In this case, the player loses the ante. The hand is over.
The second option is to call. It is necessary to make a bet equal to two antes.
If the customer calls, the dealer shows his cards and checks whether the minimum combination is present or not, i.e. an ace-king. If it is absent, the ante is paid 1:1 and the bet is just returned. If the dealer has a combination, he compares it to the player's hand. Then the situation may unfold in the following ways:
- If the dealer has a higher combination, the ante and bet go to the cashier of the casino.
- If the hands have equal ranks, bets are returned.
- If the player's hand is higher, the ante is paid 1:1 and the bet payout is calculated based on the following odds, established by the rules for all possible hands:
- Pair - 1:1
- Two pairs - 2:1
- Three of a kind - 3:1
- Straight - 4:1
- Flush - 5:1
- Full house - 7:1
- Four of a kind - 20:1
- Straight flush - 50:1
- Royal flush - 100:1
Rules for Casino Stud Poker do not allow exchanging cards, purchasing the sixth card and dealer's play.
If you play stud poker following the optimal strategy, you can reach the theoretical payout percentage of 94.78%.
